Oz Post for Wood Fence and Vinyl Fence
Some Oz-Posts are designed for use with square wood, vinyl, steel or aluminum posts. Oz-Post is a great option for installation of wood fencing and vinyl fencing.
Using Oz Post with Wood Fence Several models of Oz Post are available which are intended for installation with wooden fence posts. Varying lengths depending on the height of your planned wood fence.
Using Oz Post with Vinyl Fence
If this is what you are planning, we recommend driving the Oz-Post top sleeve completely into the ground and fastening the vinyl to the Oz-Post with adhesive like silicone, epoxy or polyurethane glue. The vinyl post slips into the Oz-Post to provide the maximum strength for the vinyl post. After the glue sets up the fence post will be very solid and long lasting. You can also “dry fit” your vinyl fence with Oz-Post and glue at the end which is helpful for first time builders.
Because there is no digging or concrete required with Oz-Post, it is easy to keep the site and the vinyl fence clean. It is recommended by many vinyl manufacturers that gate posts have an insert, commonly aluminum, to provide additional strength for gate posts. Other manufactures recommend filing the posts with concrete to stiffen the post. Oz-Post recommends that these reinforcement measures also be used when anchoring your posts with Oz-Post. Vinyl is not as rigid as other fencing materials and therefore on gate posts additional reinforcement is usually recommended. Regardless of what is required for reinforcing your gate posts, Oz-Post will provide a sturdy foundation for long term performance.
