Tie Wires
Tie wires are used when stretching chain link fence fabric and most commonly used to tie the fence to the chain link framework.
One end of the tie wire has a slight bend or curl (often called a pig tail) and it slips through the diamond of the chain link fence fabric. Then the long end is wrapped around the fence top rail or post.
We carry tie wires in different thicknesses or gauges. From 12 gauge steel ties to 9 gauge aluminum ties, all the way up to the heaviest 9 gauge steel.
How to order tie wires:
- Order the correct tie wire to match your pipe. 2" tie wires for 2" pipe, 3" tie wires for 3" pipe.
- Order the correct gauge tie wire to match your application. We carry tie wires suitable for residential fence installations as well as commercial fence jobs.
Notes on installing tie wires in chain link fence:
- Use the same amount of tie wires on line posts as you would tension bands. 6' high chain link fence uses 5 tension bands on terminal posts and 5 evenly spaces tie wires on line posts
- Use one tie wire every two feet on the top rail.
