Wireless Gate and Door Intercoms

Wireless intercoms are used to access either gate openers or electric door locks as well as providing wireless communication with an indoor or outdoor base location.  Unlike telephone intercoms, wired intercoms or wired digital keypads, which communication with other means, the wireless intercoms act as "walkie-talkies" and use radio frequencies to send voice and open/close commands to the outside intercom(s) and either gate openers or remote electric door locks.

How do wireless intercoms work?

Your visitor arrives at your locked gate, or door entrance.  They push the call button, which rings your indoor or other external base station.  Someone at your base stations activates the "push to talk" button, and establishes communication with the exterior gate or door intercom.  If access is granted, your base station operator pushes a button which sends a radio signal to the gate, door or garage door opener's relay which unlocks the entrance.

There are many different configurations and setups, and it may seem a bit confusing at first.  But once you understand how each piece in the puzzle works, you can assemble an access control solution that will fit your security needs.

And as always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us by phone or email, and we'll be happy to try and make heads and tails of all this for you.
